About
Health Communication Research at the U
The University of Utah is a dynamic hub for health communication research, where faculty and students work together to advance the role of communication in improving health care and public health outcomes. Our research group investigates how people exchange, interpret, and act on health information—across clinical, digital, and community settings.
With support from specialized labs, interdisciplinary centers, and collaborative partnerships, our faculty lead impactful projects—from cancer prevention to environmental health. Students are deeply involved in research, gaining hands-on experience and contributing to meaningful discoveries. Our collective achievements include influential publications, competitive grants, and national honors, all reinforcing our commitment to evidence-based solutions that bridge communication and health.
Through strong collaborations with healthcare systems, government agencies, and community organizations, the Health Communication Research Group ensures that our work is both scientifically rigorous and socially responsive—translating research into real-world impact.
